Non Recyclable items
Some items can’t be recycled through the weekly council collections. These should go into the black sack.
Textiles can be recycled at one of the clothing banks located around MK or if they’re good quality you can drop them off to your nearest charity shop.
There are also local events being held throughout the year such as swishing, jumble sales and repurposing events so look out for details on our events page.
Plastic bags – some supermarkets offer recycling for these
Plastic film and food wrapping – if it opens out again after scrunching then we can’t recycle it!
Nappies and sanitary products
Animal waste/dog mess (double bagged)
Broken glass or china – please ensure it is appropriately wrapped to avoid injury to yourself or our crews
Nappies and animal waste should be double bagged. If you have large quantities of nappies or animal waste you should spread them over a number of bags so that no one bag is overly heavy.
Did you know?
We run information events for parents to find out about real (cloth) nappies. These type of nappies are reuseable which is good news for the environment and for your pocket!
